What Can You Do That Isn’t So Useful?

I went on a beautiful hike today.

My buddy and I laughed that we were “jealous of ourselves” getting to take off and head into the woods on a Tuesday.

But we also acknowledged that we needed it. We've both been working hard this year.

The truth is, I get so pulled into running my coaching and therapy businesses that I forget to stop and enjoy the scenery that's less than an hour from where I live:

What Can You Do That Isn’t So Useful?

Just a stroll in the nearby National Forest…

My friend pointed out the irony of spending so much time & effort promoting the freedom of “solopreneur life" that I can forget to use that freedom sometimes.

So today I enjoyed it. It felt great.

I still had a goal of writing today, so here I am –but I'm keeping it short (and honest).

Are you setting aside intentional rest, fun, and play?

Even if you have a hundred items on your to-do list, can you schedule one thing this week that isn't “useful”?

(Hint: choose something that doesn't involve screens; your brain is still working even when you're scrolling).

Read a book.

Play with your pet.

Wake up early and really taste your coffee as you watch the day come alive.

Get a massage.

Listen to a song that brings up happy memories.

Take a nap.

I'm glad someone reminded me to stop being so dang useful today.

Now I'm here to remind you

Let me know how it goes!

#SolopreneurLife,

-Jane
