You can have your Dream Business.

I’ve been there.

If you’re like most of the solopreneurs I coach, you’re passionate about your work, and you’re damn good at what you do. But running a business can make all your inner “stuff” come up—especially if you’re a sensitive, heart-driven business owner. You may struggle with overwhelm, feeling “lost” with marketing, or wondering where to focus your attention & energy (so many shiny objects!).

I get it. I know what it’s like to wonder if you’ve got what it takes in business.

While building a thriving therapy practice, then my business-coaching practice, I had to learn that there wasn’t one technique or magical tactic that would make it all work. Success comes from the inside out. I went all-in (investing thousands of hours in learning, tens of thousands of $$ in coaching programs, and helping hundreds of solopreneurs) to develop a unique combination of strategies & mindset skills that help business owners get out of their own way, make more money —and have more fun in the process.

After almost a decade as a business coach, I still love helping solopreneurs:

  • Find joy and purpose as they serve their clients.

  • Have a business aligned with their values & personality.

  • Find themselves saying,  “I can’t believe I get paid so well to do work I love so much!”

No matter how much you struggle with “stuckness,” lack of clarity, perfectionism (or feeling convinced you’re an imposter):

You can do this.
In fact, if you’re like most of the people I work with, you’re sitting on a gold mine and don’t even know it.

You can have more fun, money, and freedom in your business —while also loving who you are in the process. Let’s chat about what’s going on in your business, discuss your goals and challenges, and explore whether coaching is a good fit for you.

“Jane is a rare combination of friendly warmth and shrewd business sense. She cuts through the clutter and noise and helps entrepreneurs grow the business that's right for them, rather than the one the noisy business-coaching landscape is telling us to.” -Katherine Zavodni, kznutrition.com

A Little More About Me…

As both a business coach and a psychotherapist, I love helping people navigate the path to a meaningful life. I apply these principles in my own life in the mountains of Asheville, NC, where I'm an outdoorswoman, world-traveler, dog-mama, local-beer-snob, and coffee-shop connoisseur.

I have a Master’s degree in Counseling from Vanderbilt University, a B.A. in History from Colorado College, and a habit of buying books faster than I can possibly read them all. I also love listening to, and being a guest on, great podcasts.

Coaching (especially 1-1 coaching) lights me up. Here’s what makes me different:

As your business coach, I won’t:

  • Push you to “Crush it,” “10x it!”, or “Make your business your bitch!”, or

  • Insist that you “raise your vibrations,” or peddle passive, vaguely-spiritual concepts.  (My clients call me “Grounded-Woo”: I value spirituality & the power of intention, but combine it with clear action).

I will:

  • Give you a combination of strategy, mindset-shift, and warm accountability to make consistent progress toward your goals.

  • Be a business coach who really cares about you and your business, and who tailors the insight specifically to you.

“You Remind me of Ted Lasso! It’s coaching for my business, but it feels very personal and uplifting, too.” -Jennifer W.

My Values

Business, like life, goes better when we follow some core principles. These are the guiding values of my Business Coaching:

  • The world needs your work. Having a thriving business allows you to serve your deeper purpose in the world.

  • It can (and should) be fun. Starting and running your business doesn't have to be a struggle. Hard work, yes; torturous uphill-slog, no.

  • Knowledge isn’t enough. We also need the encouragement, motivation, and energy of others to help us put knowledge into practice. "If information was the answer, we'd all be billionaires with perfect abs." -Derek Sivers

  • We can’t wait for the fear to go away before taking action. Courage isn't the absence of fear; imperfect action is the only way forward. The confidence comes after we leap. "We become who we pretend to be". -Kurt Vonnegut

  • Making good money is a great thing. It allows us the freedom to have balanced lives, which in turn helps us to be happier & more present at work. It allows us to bless others, and to serve our clients well.

  • You can have what you want. The "permission fairy" isn't coming to deem you worthy of your dreams. Waiting for permission and worthiness might mean never getting started. It’s time to go for it.

Q: But Jane, can you help someone who does what I do?

A. I started out coaching other therapists in private practice, but quickly realized that many other solopreneurs face the same types of questions and challenges! Over the years, I’ve worked with coaches, nutritionists, copywriters, fitness trainers, designers, artists, adventure-travel guides, enneagram experts, body liberation specialists, PR agents, private chefs, handymen, realtors, retreat-leaders, wine educators, web designers, and even a skateboard-park owner.

During our Clarity Call, we can talk about your specific business and whether I’m a fit to help you reach your goals.

Q: You’ve talked about mindset and values. What about business strategy?

A: While I love helping solopreneurs find clarity and confidence, I also teach skills in marketing, systems, pricing, productivity, and sales. (If you’re looking for help with specific technology, I may not be your gal). We’ll tailor the strategy to your business together.
