I've Got A Superpower (And So Do You).
I heard a great story about a guy whose favorite ice-breaker question at parties is to ask, “If you could either fly or be invisible, which superpower would you choose?” He said it not only helped him avoid the usual “So, what do you do?” question, but tells him a lot about a person, once they start talking about why they’d choose either one.
You have a superpower, too, whether you know it or not. Everyone has something they love doing, and are particularly good at in their own special way. It may be that you make a mean lasagna, or it may be in your business (ex. what is one thing that sets you apart from other people in your profession in your area?).
My superpower is gathering and connecting people. As an introvert, I like to say “I’m may not be the life of the party, but I’m usually the one hosting it.” I love bringing people together, then sitting back and watching the magic happen. I’ve set up couples and best-friendships, I’ve thrown great parties, and I’ve seen people in my gatherings get inspired to start new businesses— just by being in the room. Magic happens when you gather and connect people.
A few months ago, I decided that I needed to start gathering my Business-Coaching clients together— to see what magic might happen there. I love doing individual coaching, but I realized that all these amazing, intelligent, creative people could really inspire each other, too.
I started an online community called the Mighty Mastermind*, invited my clients in, and… yep, gradually the magic started. Connections and mutual-support started percolating, ideas sprouted, collaborations began, and as it gained momentum, I realized this was something I wanted to grow.
The timing of the Mighty Mastermind couldn’t have been better. As the coronavirus crisis hit, and many people who needed coaching help suddenly feIt nervous about their finances, I realized that I had a way for more people to experience the momentum-giving, transformative impact of coaching, with an investment that’s within reach.
The Mighty Mastermind is fast becoming the centerpiece of my coaching program. Members are sharing their goals and challenges, cheering one another on, and sharing insights. We’re gathering regularly online for live-masterminding sessions during my “Get it Done Days.” I’m sharing special trainings and feedback with them, and they’re helping one another implement what they’re learning.
I believe that the current “crisis” is actually an amazing opportunity for solo business owners. I believe that it is possible to have a stronger, clearer, more profitable (and fun) business on the other side of this moment.
I want to invite you, and other passionate, authentic solo-business owners, to apply to join the Mighty Mastermind. (Hit “reply” to set up a call).
“Apply”? Yep. I give a lot of attention and focus to my coachees, and I care about this community. I don’t want just anyone joining, I want solopreneurs who are a good fit— i.e., people who will get a lot out of the Mighty Mastermind. This may cost me money in the long run, but the integrity of my coaching program matters.
“Is this another Facebook group?” Nope. I intentionally chose to host the Mighty Mastermind on it’s own on its own site/app away from Facebook, so that people would be focused on the gathering itself, and not distracted by ads, notifications, political arguments, or other “clutter.”
“What do you mean by “Mastermind”? *A “mastermind” is based on the idea that when you bring several “minds” together, a larger “mastermind” forms— more creativity, bigger ideas, extra energy. You know, that magic I was talking about in gatherings.

Here’s to your superpower, no matter what that might be. I hope you’re getting to use it more (not less) during this pandemic. If it has to do with your business, and you want to learn more about how to use it now, let me know—I may just be able to help you. Your business matters. Let’s talk.
